Park City’s top real estate sales team, which includes three-time Olympic skier Erik Schlopy, has affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and will be heading up Coldwell Banker’s new Park City brokerage office.
The highly regarded and well-known REALTORS® Team Schlopy are comprised of agents Marny Schlopy, her husband Kent Schlopy, their son Erik Schlopy, and their son-in-law, Kevin Crockett. Before affiliating with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Team Schlopy were independent agents at Summit Sotheby’s International Real Estate.
The Schlopy family is among the best-known residents in the Park City area given their business success and their tremendous athletic accomplishments over the years. Erik was a member of the U.S. Ski Team, a World Cup ski racer, and a three-time Olympian and a bronze medalist at the World Championships. Erik’s wife is former Olympic swimming medalist Summer Sanders. And the Schlopy’s daughter Keri was a NCAA skiing champion.
“Having Team Schlopy make this move to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and help launch our new Park City office is a tremendous coup for the company in terms of the caliber and quality of the team, along with the family’s stature in the community,” said Chris Jensen, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “They are arguably some of the most successful REALTORS® in all of Utah, as well as one of the best known and admired families in our area. I’m so proud they have decided to affiliate with Coldwell Banker.”
In addition to the agents, also moving to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage from Team Schlopy will be Wendy Martin, director of client relations; Lana Harris, vice president of sales; Linda Howard, director of operations; and Tyler Smith, director of marketing.
Marny Schlopy began her real estate career in Park City in 1992 and was joined by Kent in 2001, Kevin in 2002, and Erik in 2014. Over the years, Team Schlopy has become one of the top-producing real estate teams in Utah, ranking in the top 1 percent of all agents in Park City from 1998 to the present. After affiliating with Summit Sotheby’s in 2008, Team Schlopy was ranked as the number one real estate team in all of Utah.
There were a number of reasons why the agents decided to join Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Marny said. They were attracted by the company’s large network of agents and offices, its strong relocation and referral business, its position as the number one brand in real estate, and its strong management support of real estate teams.
Additionally, she said the opportunity work with Chris Jensen to get Coldwell Banker’s new Park City office off the ground was one they couldn’t pass up.
“We’re very excited to work with Chris, who is a relationship-based REALTOR® just as we are,” she said. “About 75 percent of our business comes from repeat clients and referrals from clients, so providing really great service is important to our business. And having worked with Chris before we know client service and building long-term relationships are just as important to him.”
Jensen said opening an office in Park City will help Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage respond to its strong customer growth.
“In recent years we’ve seen tremendous demand for our services from homebuyers and home sellers in the greater Park City area, both in terms of vacation homes and primary residences as well,” he said. “Having talent and client-focused agents like Team Schlopy is a really great start for our new office.”
Although plans are still being formulated, Jensen said he hopes to recruit as many as 75 independent sales associates to affiliate with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s new Park City office over the next year or two.
Team Schlopy will be located at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s new Park City office, located at 1153 Center Drive, G-200.
